London Gatwick Airport is second airport by size in United Kingdom and also second by number of passengers, behind Heathrow Airport. On the world scale it is the 28th Airport by the number of passengers. It is located 47 km south of London, 5 km north of central Crawley. Owner of Gatwick Airport is British Airports Authority (BAA) and they own seven more airports in United Kingdom. Gatwick Airport is opened on June 9, 1958 which means that its old more then 50 years. Charter airlines mostly use Gatwick airport.

Gatwick Airport has two terminals South and North one. It’s a modern fascility with the many shops, hotels and restaurants. Cheap car hire at Gatwick Airport is also available.

Sussex Police have control over the Gatwick airport, including aircraft, and in some cases, aircraft in flight.

There are plans to build third terminal which will give the Gatwick airport opportunity to overpass Heathrow in handling number of passengers.
